The Alex Fraser Group was named the Wyndham City Council Business of the Year at the annual Business Awards in August 2010.

This very proud achievement was acknowledged by the company's Chief Operating Officer Pete Murphy, who accepted the award.

Speaking to a crowd of over 500 local business men and women, Pete said the Alex Fraser Group has a great team of people who are passionate and committed to recycling.

He also thanked the company's customers - many of whom have been strong advocates for recycled materials over many years.

"I like to think that we are quiet achievers at Alex Fraser - and that we just get on with what we are doing - but this sort of recognition is very much appreciated and a great testiment to the people working at Alex Fraser every day," he said.

"It’s one way of recognising the work that each of our team do in keeping each part of the business ticking and a testament to our staff's preparedness to challenge, and to steadily improve, the way we go about our work.

" A business doesn’t change and grow over the years like Alex Fraser has without a group of people focused on making that happen," he said.
