The Alex Fraser Group has been named the winner of the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand’s Werner Strauss Award for the company’s outstanding contribution to the field of air quality.
The Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand’s Victoria/Tasmania branch toured the Alex Fraser Group’s new site at Kingston Road, Clarinda earlier this year to see first-hand the groundbreaking work undertaken by the company on air quality management.
In presenting the award the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand President Paul Torre said “the Alex Fraser Group has made an oustanding contribution to air quality and the environment by employing state of the art management practices to minimise the impact to the environment, greenhouse and energy conservation measures and sustainable recycling activites, as well as directly contributing to sustainable development.”
Alex Fraser Group Managing Director Jamie McKellar said the company has invested heavily in the air quality management system at its Clarinda site.
“This site features measures that go beyond regulatory requirements to deliver greater transparency,
better accuracy in reporting and a higher level in the standard of site management,” he said.
“We are very proud to receive this recognition from the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand. We believe the system that has been developed and introduced at this site has set a new benchmark for the
recycling and quarrying sector.”
