Not only are Alex Fraser recycled products being used to build greener roads and rail, they’re now been selected as a sustainable solution for the redevelopment of Melbourne’s most iconic racetrack.

Alex Fraser Asphalt was in great form on her first start out at Flemington Racecourse recently, initially profiling 10,000 tonnes (correct weight) from the track, before supplying and paving 4000 tonnes of open grade sustainable asphalt.

The profiled material was then stockpiled or recycled to be reused elsewhere, providing the most sustainable outcome for the project. Once the sustainable asphalt is laid, a rubber compound will be laid on top to provide a safe and durable track for the horses.

Working with Flemington Racecourse’s principle contractor, T. James & Son Constructions, our asphalt team is assisting with the iconic racetrack’s redevelopment.

Profiling Manager Andrew Barbara worked with Sales Manager Mario Ortisis to develop the package of works.

“We’re very happy to be working with T. James and Son Constructions again, on such an interesting project,” said Andrew.

“It’s great to hear from our customers that we’re winning their jobs because of our customer service, quality and reliability,” said Andrew.
