Habitat Protection

Alex Fraser’s sites host expansive indigenous habitat. We are continually working to improve biodiversity at all of our facilities with additions including; protective shelters, bird and insect boxes, floating refuge islands for resident fauna, cameras to monitor the activity of wildlife and planting of indigenous trees and shrubs. An extensive and valuable habitat is well incorporated into the ongoing operation of our leading resource recovery facilities.

Alex Fraser is committed to the containment and eradication of Red Imported Fire Ants throughout Queensland.

As part of the Heidelberg Material Australia Group our work is guided by our national Sustainability Charter and underpinned by Heidelberg Materials’ 2030 Sustainability Commitments.

Together, we are committed to reducing our global environmental footprint. We are united on reducing our impact on air, land and water. By 2025 the entire Heidelberg Materials Group, including Alex Fraser, will reduce carbon emissions by 30%.
