Habitat Protection

Alex Fraser’s sites host expansive indigenous habitat. We are continually working to improve biodiversity at all of our facilities with additions including; protective shelters, bird and insect boxes, floating refuge islands for resident fauna, cameras to monitor the activity of wildlife and planting of indigenous trees and shrubs. An extensive and valuable habitat is well incorporated into the ongoing operation of our leading resource recovery facilities.

As part of the Hanson Group of Companies our work is guided by our national Sustainability Charter and underpinned by Heidelberg Materials’ 2030 Sustainability Commitments.

Reconciliation Action Plan

As part of the Hanson Group of Companies, Alex Fraser’s work is guided by the Hanson Reconciliation Action Plan endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in 2021.

During NAIDOC Week 2021, the Hanson Group of Companies commissioned artwork by Indigenous artist Nikita Ridgeway, representing its role in the Australian community.

Nikita’s artwork is featured on the cover of the Reconciliation Action Plan. A full copy of the document is available via the link below.
